The International Center for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust (ICEAH), at the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum, will hold a conference entitled The Future of Auschwitz and the Holocaust Education in Authentic Memorial Sites, at the Auschwitz Memorial on October 10-12, 2018.

"History, Memory and Responsibility" is the title of the English-language seminar for journalists which will be held by the International Center for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust on 23-24 October 2017 (Oct 22 & 25 are the arrival and departure days).

The German Minister of Foreign Affairs Heiko Maas visited the Auschwitz Memorial and Museum on 20 August 2018. He was welcomed by Andrzej Kacorzyk, deputy director of the Museum and head of the International Centre for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust, who in the course of the visit familiarised the guest with the history of the camp and the contemporary challenges of the Memorial. On 8-19 July 2018, the International Centre for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust at the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum organised another edition of the seminar “Auschwitz in the collective consciousness in Poland and the world. The role and significance of the Auschwitz-Birkenau remembrance for Jews and Poles” addressed to Israeli educators. 20 persons attended the seminar - tour guides and employees of institutions that deal with the topic of the Holocaust.

“Polish citizens in KL Auschwitz is the title of the educational project the main objective of which is to spread among young Poles reliable knowledge concerning the history and fate of the citizens of the Second Polish Republic incarcerated and murdered in German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz. Official inauguration of the project took place on June 13th in the Janusz Korczak Hall in the Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw, with Maciej Kopeć, vice-minister of national education, among its participants.

On 23-26 July 2018, the International Centre for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust at the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum organised another edition of the seminar “Auschwitz - history and symbol” for the first time addressed to Ukrainian teachers and educators. It was attended by 23 persons from different parts of Ukraine who are professionally involved with the dissemination of the knowledge of the II World War, and particularly the Holocaust.
